Responsive / Douwe Egberts Coffee. Change of direction.

After peer review and evaluation of my progress, I realised there were a few flaws in my design proposals! I needed to explain the idea of the token/ free coffee holder in more depth and propose a design.

I also needed to present my proposals and designs ready for submission.

After receiving crit feedback, I knew I had to address the concept of the token more in-depth...

The concept was for Douwe Egberts to include a triangular token card accompanied by a 'DE' sticker. Once you gained 8 stickers, which are gathered through buying 8 portions of the DE Instant range. You would be rewarded with one free portion.

The idea was to encourage younger people to buy the smaller portions on a more regular basis, taking current trends such as the Nandos card technique encourages younger people to get more engaged in their buying of the brand.
Constructing a 3D version/ this made it possible to visualise how the triangles would actually sit together and its a very unique visual! the packages would protrude/overhang catching the eyes of any consumers walking down aisles...

The Instant Range /

Smooth

Pure Gold

Special edition packaging - The famous Red depicted by Douwe Egbert's would decorate this christmas edition packaging, 'a winter warmer' could be put forward by Douwe Egberts and used in conjunction with this packaging.

The left and right sides of the front-part would be perforated giving the lift-up lid a smooth cut sides.

Pyramid Net; The two lower parts would wrap behind the decorated sides, giving the pyramid more rigidity and structural format. The top triangle represents the bottom of the pyramid which would be attached using the flaps on the left and right decorated sides.

When the triangles are stacked on shelfs they will have a very obscure front and catch your eye more than other products! If the triangles were flat sided and not a pyramid they would have a smooth front and not have as much of a drastic effect as the pyramid would!

The Installation// The concept would be to serve cups of instant coffee to the public promoting the new range of products, The coffee taps would protrude from the logo's of the triangles placed behind the wooden desk.

The fact that Douwe Egberts has already dabbled with 3D Installations makes this proposal that tiny bit more viable.

Now I need to prepare my designs for submission and explain the thinking behind my concept!
